46% of Local Searchers Visit Businesses

New study shows that 46% of people who conduct a local search for a product or business service actually make in-store/business visits. This is a 12% jump compared to last year. The study was conducted by TMP Directional Marketing and comScore.
Also, slightly up were “general searches” accounting for 34% visiting stores/businesses. Including, 11% increase of 44% “general searchers” contacting a business directly via telephone after their search.

Local searchers expect to find businesses that provide the type of service and/or products they need. Once they find the business, they directly look for an address and location information, along with a phone number.

It is valuable to understand a consumer’s behavior in order to provide them with the assistance, information, and tools they need to make their search & online experience as simple as possible. Based off the data, effectively presenting the primary goals a searcher seeks is one of the important aspects to delivering satisfaction to potential consumers/clients.
